Greenhouse Sales Associate | City Floral Garden Center

City Floral is hiring for an entry level greenhouse sales associate. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Essential Functions and Duties:

• Ability to be conversant about annuals and assist customers in selecting the most appropriate plants for their projects
• Desire to work in a retail environment, providing superior customer service and perpetuating a friendly shopping atmosphere
• Ability to work in an extremely fast- paced and physical work environment with a sense of urgency to keep up with peak seasonal demands
• Merchandising sale floor displays
• Lifting, carrying, and transporting merchandise between receiving stations, warehouse and backstock areas

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Prior greenhouse or nursery work preferred.
• Experience using a point of sale system for inventory tracking is a plus.

• Botanical knowledge –basic understanding of plant care, soil quality, and greenhouse protocol
• Attention to detail –identify plant needs and provide special care and attention when needed
• Teamwork and Communication skills – good verbal communication and ability to work on a team to coordinate and effectively complete activities during a shift
• Must be 18 years or older and eligible to work in the United States
• Must be able to work in all Greenhouse conditions

• Must be able to stand/or walk for at least an 8-hour period
• Must be able to lift or move up to 50lbs, and push/pull racks on wheels of 100lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
• All applicants must have reliable transportation, must be dependable, work weekends, over time when required

• $19/Hr
