Welcome
To Gardening In Denver!
Whether you’re new to Denver, new to gardening, or have never experienced City Floral Garden Center before, you’ll find the information you need on this page.
Location
An urban garden center
The retail greenhouses and gift store are located on the east side of Kearney Street, between 14th Ave and Colfax Ave, in the Mayfair neighborhood. There is street parking, as well as a big lot across the street on the northwest corner.
Store Map
Our greenhouses are over 100 years old, and walking through them can be a bit like walking through a maze – a FUN maze, but a maze nonetheless. Here is a map to help you navigate the store.
What to Expect
big things in-store
Looks can be deceiving – from the outside, City Floral Garden Center may not look very large, but once you walk through the doors you’re walking into over 40,000 square feet of plants, supplies, gifts, and decor. It’s almost like walking into a botanical garden!
While wandering the aisles, you may see one of our resident greenhouse cats and if you make it out to the South Patio (perennials and nursery), you might come across some of our lovely ladies, the chickens.
We welcome well-behaved fur-babies, and encourage you to bring the kids too (there’s so much to get curious about in our greenhouses).
There are carts and baskets at the entrance of the store for your convenience, and our staff all wear dark-blue City Floral t-shirts, so you can easily find them for assistance.
High-altitude gardening can be tricky if you're
new to the area, or to gardening.

Denver is Different
The Denver Metro climate is dry and the weather is unpredictable. We are in the high plains desert, with hot summers and cold winters. We are a mile high so the sun is more intense here and the dry winds can suck the moisture out of everything. Gardening in Denver comes with challenges and many factors need to be taken into consideration.
But don’t be discouraged! With the right plants and the expert knowledge of the City Floral Garden Center team, anyone can be successful at gardening here.
