Sansevieria (Snake Plant)

Sansevieria houseplants are easy to grow and is nearly indestructible. They will thrive in either very bright light or almost dark corners of the house. This is the plant for every beginner. The sansevieria houseplant fits great in smaller spaces because it generally grows up instead of out. Wonderful for any office building or home with low light or florescent lighting. Monstera (Split Leaf Philodendron)

The Monstera is probably the perfect houseplant if you are trying to create a tropical, bold look and feel in your home. By far one of the most popular houseplants we carry at City Floral this plant is most notably recognized by its large leaves that feature holes or cuts in them. The Monstera is a natural climber in in the jungle, so adding a pole or a rope to the ceiling will help it vine out. If you’d like to keep it smaller simply give it regular pruning.
ZZ Plant (Zamioculcas zamiifolia)

In the world of garden centers and plant nurseries there is one plant we all deem the perfect houseplant for beginners—the ZZ plant. The ZZ or Zamioculcas zamiifolia has been around for centuries, originally found in Africa, this houseplant loves neglect. Leave it alone for a month? Loves it. Put it in a dark space? Thrives. Forget to water for a month? No problem. The ZZ plant is also an air purifier that will remove such toxins as benzene and xylene from the air. Be sure to add this plant to your collection because you won’t regret it.
Spider Plant

Despite its creepy name the Spider Plant is considered one of the most popular houseplants and for good reason. The spider plant is a very adaptable houseplant and is not picky on where you keep it in your home. Usually the best place to grow a spider plant is in a hanging basket. Its long leaves like to arch over the side and sometimes a stem will carry baby plantlets with them. Like the other houseplants above spider plants are great at remove unwanted toxins in your home. Succulents

We are going to be broad with this one because honestly any succulent variety you choose will be amazing. The humble succulent can be a great addition to a home full of larger houseplants. Often smaller, they can fill in those tiny areas in between shelves or windowsills. Succulents do love a lot of light so making sure they get at least 6 hours of sun a day is important.
Rubber Plant (Ficus Elastica)

If you are looking for a plant to make a statement, look no further than the Rubber Plant (Ficus Elastica). This plant features thick, glossy leaves that come in a variety of different shades from rich burgundy to almost black. The rubber plant can also be enjoyed at any size that fits your home. You can restrict it size by keeping it in a smaller pot or if you are looking for something a little bigger bring it outside during the summer and repot it into a larger pot every year or two. Give it bright indirect light, well-draining soil and regular watering and you’ll have a beautiful houseplant for many years.
Peace Lily

Peace lily houseplants are a common houseplant that create beautiful white blooms when placed in high-light situations. It will tolerate low-light areas, but it will not bloom as much. They often look their best when grouped in clusters of three or more. According to NASA, Peace lilies are one of the most effective houseplants at filtering indoor pollutants from the air.
